“Whatever is going to happen will happen, whether we worry or not.” – Ana Monnar
Everyone worries, whether for small things or big enough to worry. Worrying doesn’t take you from A to B but still you give all your thoughts to it. You keep worrying until the point you feel weaker. You think about small problems continually that is not even worth your time and thinking.
Worry keeps your mind occupied with things you can’t do anything about. To overcome your worries, you can train your brain to stay calm, positive and think of a life as a beautiful miracle happened to you and feel blessed.
Worrying won’t change a thing
The truth is you have no control over many of the things that happen in your life. Some people try to refuse the truth and become control freaks. They think if they gain enough control over people or situation, they can prevent the bad things happening to them. Others know they can’t prevent bad things happening, but they still worry about them anyway.
Why do you worry excessively
If you suffer from worries and chronic anxiety, the chances are it makes it difficult to focus and find happiness in anything. For example, you may overestimate the possibility of things turn out badly, jump into conclusions, assuming you’re not good enough in anything.
It’s something that always remains in your mind and doesn’t need any trigger to come back. These hopeless and pessimistic attitudes are known as cognitive distortions. Example of cognitive distortions that add to worry and anxiety are including: Believing what you think is right and everything else is wrong, focusing on negative and filtering positive, giving reasons why positive events don’t count, labeling yourself not good enough for anything, over-generalization.
Why is it so hard to stop worrying
“Happy is the man who has broken the chains which hurt the mind, and has given up worrying once and for all.” – Ovid
Worry will never change the outcome, then why worry? Because maybe you thinking you might find solution of the problem or if you think a little longer, you might be able to resolve the issue and come to any conclusion but reality is you are only making yourself tenser.
In order to stop worrying for good, you need to give up the belief that worrying serves the positive purpose. You need to understand that the solution of your problem is not worrying about it, only then you can turn off your un-wanted thoughts and regain control of your mind.
Take it as a challenge to yourself and stop worrying. Choose peace, prayer and happiness. Just accept the things you can’t change and gather up the courage to change the things you can. May God be with you.
